Anime Angels

I have no idea what these characters are from. Any guesses? Probably some obscure Japanese video game? But would like to know- I've had these images stored away on my hard disk (along with several others) for ages and never knew where they came from.

Attaching wings to anime characters or video game characters has been all the rage for years with manga style artists on sites like Devianart. I can appreciate it and it looks cool, but it does seem a little over done? I wonder why..? But these designs look great and have a kind of medieval/sci-fi theme to them.

The Japanese school girl is probably the most common of all anime and manga characters ever to grace our screens. I think for a lot of westerners, they see the sailor-like uniform and immediately think "anime" before they would think "Japanese" as the school outfit and anime pretty much go hand in hand. I wonder what percentage of anime features school kids? Probably 70%+ perhaps? If you wanted to indulge in a constant reminder of schoolgirl fan service, you can always buy yourself a mouse pad:

Urban explosions + Shirow style cyborg police girl = ideal gift for cyberpunk anime geeks like myself! Or for video game fans- having just played Deus EX 3 myself, this is the kind of artwork I appreciate! Not everyone has an ipad, but for those that do, the cases you can get for them are pretty awesome. There's also a lot of not-so-great products on these kinda of sites, so be prepared to do penty of shifting through pages and pages of content until you find something you like. The artwork is a little different to your typical Cel-like, animation-esque style with smooth airbrushed colouring which looks pretty effective! I guess if you like your anime babes, you're into goth cosplay and have a love for heels, or indeed know someone that does, this would make a great little gift!
I wonder if people send many halloween themed post cards in October? If anything it makes a change from the typical sunny beach and palm trees, which I'm sure we're all sick of, right? :D
